Six referral paths for a stranded EV.
Charge Pro DC matches DC-area drivers with independent local operators. The operator confirms the service, vehicle compatibility, price, and timing.
Start with what the car is doing
You're standing next to a car that will not move. The cards below are the options. Match what you can see to the right one before you call.
We match you with an independent local EV professional in the DC area. The operator we send does the work, and you contract and pay that professional directly.
This is the DC area, 44 cities and communities. Read the symptom sections, then use the matching card.

The screen is dark and the frunk won't open
That is a dead 12V, not an empty traction battery. Tesla 12V Battery Jump is the on-site jump for this.
A charge call here sends the wrong operator. The car is not asking for traction power. It needs the 12V jumped so the screen and the frunk can come back.
The car is out of charge
If the traction battery is empty, a 12V jump will not get you moving. That is a charge problem.
Mobile EV Charging brings 240V Level 2 power to wherever the car sits. Out-of-Charge EV Recovery is the other card when the car is out of charge.
The car is not a Tesla
Use Non-Tesla EV Rescue for Rivian, Ford Lightning, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, Polestar and Chevy Bolt. The operator we send carries a CCS adapter.
A stuck port is not an empty battery
An empty pack and a jammed port look alike from the curb. They need different operators. If the car still shows range and won't take a cable, you have a port problem. A latch that won't release is a port problem. So is a cable frozen in the inlet. So is a public post that fails the handshake.
Try the simple steps first. End the session on the car's screen or in the app. Check the 12-volt system. A sleeping 12-volt can lock the port and kill the handshake. If the cable still won't come free after that, stop. If the post keeps throwing an error after a clean restart, stop. That's no longer a self-fix. Tell the operator the port state and the screen error. Say whether the cable is stuck in the car.
What a mobile charge actually is
The operator we match you with brings Level 2 power at 240 volts. Typical rescue charging adds about 10 to 20 miles of range in 15 to 30 minutes of charging. That window is charging time. It isn't a promise about when anyone arrives. Operators carry a native NACS plug plus CCS or J1772 adapters. The match depends on the port on your bumper.
Nobody fast-charges a car on a shoulder. A damaged or undrivable car needs a flatbed, not a charge. Same if the car sits where a charger can't legally work. Share the model, the port you see, and whether the car can roll. The operator confirms compatibility, access, and the service before the work starts.
Where the car sits changes the job
A garage stall with low clearance is one kind of job. A gated apartment lot in Silver Spring or Hyattsville is another. A shoulder on I-495 or I-66 is a third. Tell us the garage level and the gate code if you have one. Say whether a service vehicle can reach the bumper. Access is part of the match.
National Park Service parkways have their own rules. That includes the Baltimore-Washington and George Washington Memorial parkways. Clara Barton, Rock Creek, and Suitland Parkway sit in the same set. Commercial vehicles and trucks over 10,000 lb are banned on them. Shoulders are narrow or absent. A disabled vehicle on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway is reported to the US Park Police at 202-610-7500.
Maryland breakdowns on state primary roadways use #77. That covers I-495, I-270, I-695, US-50, and MD-295. In Virginia, drivers reach help through Virginia 511. VDOT's Safety Service Patrol covers the interstates, including I-66 and I-95. Those patrols handle traffic safety. They don't deliver a Level 2 charge.
Who you call and who you pay
Charge Pro DC is a referral line for the DC area. We take the vehicle, the symptoms, and the exact location. We match that request with an independent local operator. That operator confirms compatibility, access, the service, the price, and the timing with you. You contract and pay that professional directly. Charge Pro DC never sets the price.
Have the model, the symptoms, and the pin ready, then call (202) 629-0844. The operator who accepts the job is the one who quotes you.
Common questions
Dark screen and the frunk won't open. Is that a jump or a charge?
That is Tesla 12V Battery Jump, done on site. It is a dead 12V, not an empty traction battery. A charge call sends the wrong operator.
What do I pick if the car is out of charge?
That is a traction-battery problem, not a 12V jump. Mobile EV Charging delivers 240V Level 2 power wherever the car sits, and Out-of-Charge EV Recovery is the other card for a car that is out of charge.
What if the car is not a Tesla?
Use Non-Tesla EV Rescue for Rivian, Ford Lightning, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, Polestar and Chevy Bolt. The operator we send carries a CCS adapter.
The charge cable won't release. Is that a mobile charge call?
Not by itself. A stuck latch, a frozen cable, or a failed handshake at a public post is a port problem. End the session on the screen or in the app first. Confirm the 12-volt system is awake, because a dead 12-volt can lock the inlet. If the cable still won’t come out, or the post keeps erroring after a restart, stop trying. Tell the operator the port state and the on-screen error so they match the right work.
How much range does a roadside charge add?
A typical rescue charge is Level 2 at 240 volts. That usually adds about 10 to 20 miles of range in 15 to 30 minutes of charging. That's charging time, not travel time to you. Operators bring a native NACS plug plus CCS or J1772 adapters. Nobody fast-charges a car on a shoulder. If the car is damaged or can't roll, it needs a flatbed instead of a charge.
I'm stranded on I-495 or a parkway. What changes?
Location is part of the job. On I-495, I-270, I-695, US-50, or MD-295 in Maryland, dial #77 for a breakdown on those state primary roadways. In Virginia, use Virginia 511. VDOT's Safety Service Patrol covers I-66, I-95, and other interstates. On NPS parkways, commercial vehicles and trucks over 10,000 lb are banned and shoulders are narrow or absent. Report a disabled vehicle on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to the US Park Police at 202-610-7500.
